NOTES
Descend down under the dark waters where the ghost ship voyages, searching for hopeful souls to join its journey into the territories of sirens and sea devils; this is the tale of Mortal Ghost. From the grungy, howling riffs of Sea Sentinels and the fiery heaviness of Devil Jonah to the haunting acoustic ballad of a man in The Lighthouse, Mortal Ghost offers an imaginative, musical smorgasbord that covers the spectrum of rock music. Every song is musically unique and ambitious in its own right, yet woven seamlessly together into a whole, cohesive experience, helped along by the nautical interludes flowing through the album.

Listeners may recognize the distant voices of modern rockers like Muse in songs like SS Naronic, as well as Nirvana and Foo Fighters in Treading Water and Tip Of My Tongue, and classic rock ghosts of the past may even make a surprise appearance to perform Helter Skelter! Philosophical types will stay engaged and challenged by provocative, introspective lyrics reminiscent of artists like Thrice, addressing such themes as doubt and belief, struggle and release, lust and intervention. These ingredients, combined with a ghastly surf rock sound, maritime imagery, and sea shanties are the perfect recipe for what Capt. Russ T. Shipp and the band call Nautical Rock 'n' Roll.

Regardless of your musical preference, there's something entertaining and inspiring to behold on Mortal Ghost. The crew of Rusty Shipp invites you to come aboard and join them in their journey for truth and ambitious, creative, memorable music.
